I rarely eat out, but when I do, it’s almost always somewhere near home. Not this time. On our dating anniversary, the boyfie brought me out to Hulu Langat for a scrumptious seafood buffet! Yay! He knows my heart all too well – always won over by good food!
The venue : Prawn Valley Farm
I came across this place via Facebook. It looked interesting so I told the boyfriend about it. By then, he was already one step ahead and have made plans to bring me there!
The outside area is reserved for fishing/prawing/crabbing. Could be a pretty fun family/friends activity! Once you are happy with your catch, you can head on to grill them for a yummy feast!
Prawn Valley Farm fishing price :
1 hr – Rm30
2 hr – Rm50
3 hr – Rm68
Towards the inside area, you can find the Prawn Valley Farm Restaurant where you can catch a Seafood Buffet! A variety of seafood is available such as tiger prawns, lobsters, crabs, mussels, clams, scallops, squid, fish and more. The seafood buffet is only available in the evening at 6pm or 8pm (With Rm68/pax, you have 2hrs to eat to your heart’s content). The boyfie booked the 6pm slot which I find would be better than the 8pm slot. Since it’s the first slot for dinner, the queue to enter the buffet isn’t as long as the 8pm slot (The tables are already ready). If you went early, have a booking and are the first few to enter, you get the really good stuff!
Prawn Valley Farm has a section with frozen seafood waiting for you. If you’re the first few inside, you can grab the larger pieces of seafood. If you’re late, they’ll mostly be gone. The staffs there do refill them, but well, once they’re out, they don’t really stay on the ice for long. You got to keep your eyes open wide for that.
Aside from frozen seafood, Prawn Valley Farm also have other non-seafood ingredients like lamb, chicken wings and assorted vegetables. A ‘catch your own seafood’ experience is also available! It is one of their highlights to why so many people drive all the way to their farm.
A metal trough by the tables act as the tank for the sea creatures to roam about. You can use tongs provided to fish them out and place them in an ice bucket before grilling. The tank is refilled every 45mins with live seafood. I personally find the live prawn especially fresh and flavourful – as compared to the frozen ones (they’re a different breed of prawns).
Here’s the boyfie and I (you can see the trough to our left). Photo taken by Prawn Valley Farm.
We stuffed ourselves with loads of seafood that day. For me personally, it was pretty much crab crab crab all the way! And some prawns.
With one of the boss at Prawn Valley Farm! We definitely had a wonderful time with the scrumptious dinner! Looking forward to bring my family here too!
