I haven’t been exploring as much as I’d like just yet. Day 8 was spent browsing through the internet on where to go. The adults are not as keen to exploring ‘too’ far (Boo Hoo). Made some plans to meet up more with friends that week. At night we had home cooked laksa by my relatives’ friends. Malaysian food in Perth.
Woke up to another sunny day (Day 9) and visited Garden City Shopping Mall. The first shop we entered was called K Mart. And guess what, we got stuck there for hours. I really love looking at things to buy for the home, and K Mart has LOADS of pretty and useful home stuff! It was love at first sight.
My extremely adorable mason jar + interchangeable straws and my matte nail polish in mint and black!
Also, my mint chevron scarf as the base. HA!
My first purchase was a mason jar cup (with cute straws). I’ve seen them everywhere online and in youtube videos but I’ve never found one (with a reasonable price) in Malaysia. I was so happy when I found it here in K Mart, Garden City. I was so happy with the mason jar in my hand, my dad decided he should get some for the home as well. We got 7 in total. I also picked out their packet of interchangeable colour straws!
Another cool thing K Mart has was these 3 in 1 cupcake stand that can be closed into a cupcake storage container and comes with a cupcake pan that fits perfectly beneath the container. It came in the best colour in the world – mint! My heart was screaming ‘GET IT!’ while my mind sternly said ‘NO!’ as I rarely bake. Ah. Tough battle, but the mind won. Then, we walked to the beauty section and mom and I bought a couple of make up books (but not book books). Curious? I’ll have a video up with my Perth haul on my Youtube channel after I’m back!
Next, my eyes got caught on a mint and white chevron scarf! (shown as the base in the photo above). I just had to adopt it! Then it was a lot of window shopping and drooling over items I wish to bring home but couldn’t. Even dad was wishing he could bring the bigger items home. We basically spent a couple of hours in K Mart till it was time to go home. Crazy much?
Day 10
Very much tempted to head back to Garden City since drooling over everything in K Mart the day before that we didn’t manage to hunt around in the other shops there, and so we did. This time, we looked everywhere except K Mart. Mom and I managed to hunt down a few clothing items and I even got a nail polish in my favourite colour : mint! I very rarely paint my nails, but had always found my nails ugly so I thought why not? It was not just the mint colour that attracted me, but that the nail polish comes in matte! I’m not sure if you can find them that easily in Malaysia, comment below if you know! I also bought a black one remembering how gorgeous they look in pictures online.
Day 11
Wanted to update my blog but my bandwidth got over limit. It was a piney park afternoon (yes, another park). I really enjoyed this park. Probably my favourite one. Also probably cause there were tons of dogs to meet when I visited. They also have ponds there where you can bring bread to feed the ducks around. Other than that there was nothing too special for that day. Dinner was spent in U&I. A vietnamese restaurant that is open 24hrs.
Day 12
Visited the beautiful swans at Morgan Lake. A up close and personal session 😉
Such a beautiful place with swans, ducks and very annoying seagulls. Tried to feed the ducks and swans but the seagulls kept getting in the way. I don’t like how aggressive they are. Being bias to the ducks and swans, I tend to throw a bread piece to the side to attract the seagulls, and then quickly throw a bunch to the ducks and swans in front of me. Managed to hand feed one of the swans that walked up on land as well.
Another thing to point out was that there were tons of little flying bugs around. They were more annoying than the seagulls. You’d have to find a right spot without them flying into your face. It’s definitely not surprising if you do get some flying into your mouth while talking or yawning or doing anything that requires your mouth open. If you plan to bring dogs, kindly make sure they’re on lead or your wallet will cry if you get caught. Headed to Makan-Makan for a malaysian lunch located in Victoria Park. I wasn’t too hungry so I didn’t grab anything also I was scared away by the price, but the others enjoyed their meal. You are able to order ala carte or have a buffet instead.
We looked into the corner shop on the same row as makan-makan called The Good Store. It’s a lovely novelty shop with quite interesting stuff.
That night’s dinner was home cooked.
That’s all for these few days! Check out the next post for more interesting things to come!
